Inspired by a recent discussion and a recent comment on the main site: it would be nice if the diagram generated by the PGN viewer would show which side is to move. In my experience, a white or black square near one of the corners of the board is the most common. The symbol could disappear if you make a move in the replayer, or it could adapt to the new position.
