I decided to pick up a new hobby (chess). I have an ELO of 340 and I would like to improve, but my case has some specifics that make it a bit different from the usual beginner journey. Can I ask a related question on the main site? If not, are there other websites/forums/Discord channels/etc. where I could ask such a question?

Welcome to the site! We have many questions (208 while I'm writing this) so chances are that your question, even with your specific situation, has already been asked. If not, it's probably suitable for the main site. I see you're an experienced Stack Exchange user so you are likely familiar with How do I ask a good question? and Chess.SE isn't really different from other sites in the network in that regard.
